Course Description

The BA in Counselling and Psychotherapy at Independent College provides the highest level undergraduate education in counselling and psychotherapy. It incorporates a multi-disciplinary approach including CBT, psychology, psychoanalysis, philosophy, humanistic and integrative psychotherapy, applied psychotherapy and counselling and psychotherapy practice-based skills. Clinical modules includes counselling and weekly clinical tutorials as well as experiential elements such as personal development and group analysis. In year 3, eligible students engage in supervised clinical practice work in a clinical setting. Please refer to the Syllabus section for a full description of the modules and subjects.The programme provides graduates with an excellent platform further post-graduate studies and specialisation, as well as providing all the essentials for those who wish to advance to gaining accreditation as a counsellor or psychotherapist.
