The Applied Business Technology Online program prepares students for employment in today's rapidly changing world of business. The program content uses 20 of the 26 courses available from the list of ABT collaborative courses available through BCcampus. Emphasis is placed on acquiring communication, critical thinking, interpersonal, personal management and technical skills. Offices in business, government, and industry offer many opportunities for employment and graduates of the program have been successful in finding employment in a variety of fields including accounting, education, financial, real estate and hospitality.

On successful completion of this program, graduates will be able to: * Apply basic principles of grammar and punctuation in writing and composing a variety of business documents. * Demonstrate expert level of mastery in choosing appropriate software in the production of business documents formatted in accordance with accepted current office standards. * Demonstrate basic math skills in business applications. * Apply accounting principles in analyzing and recording basic accounting transactions for different types of business organizations and performing practical accounting functions. * Demonstrate an expert level of mastery using current financial (spreadsheet) computer software. * Demonstrate proficiency and accuracy in recording accounting transactions in computerized accounting programs. * Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication techniques that positively influence performance on the job. * Identify career goals and demonstrate effective job search skills and techniques utilizing online and other resources.
