The course is designed to give you an understanding of business organisations and the markets they serve. This will be valuable background information in your working life and particularly relevant for anyone involved in management or business. The type of student who is successful is: ~ A proficient essay writer ~ A2 Unit 4 requires you to write two essays in 1h 45m so a good standard of English is required. ~ Numerically minded, relatively basic Maths only required ~ ratio analysis (formula sheet provided in Unit 3), percentage changes.... ~ Interested in current affairs and business/economic news ~ although Units 1, 2 and 3 are case-study based, Unit 4 requires broader business knowledge (therefore wider reading is critical). This course is ideal for an “all-rounder” as the subject combines elements of finance, marketing, economics, law, project management.... the list goes on! NB: students taking A-Level Business Studies cannot study the combined Economics & Business A-Level alongside due to substantial repetition of course material.

The subject is accepted as an entrance qualification for a wide variety of courses in higher education. It has a particular relevance for those who wish to specialise in business studies, banking, accountancy, retail management, human resource management, marketing and finance. The knowledge and experience of business management you develop through the course will also be valuable for future employment in most areas.
