The programme will explore the wider aspects of criminology in relation to policing and focus on enhancing professional practice through the study of a range of disciplines including policing management and leadership; liability, rights and responsibilities; policing, social policy and politics and community and diversity. The programme encourages students to understand the wider criminal justice system environment, policing and criminology.

Following extensive consultation with Skills for Justice and regional Police Authorities the programme takes into account the wider criminal justice environment rather than being Police Service specific.
