BSc (Hons) Equine Studies

Course Description

This three year degree programme in Equine Studies covers a broad range of equine topics, providing a challenging and demanding area of study. It provides an in-depth overview of the equine industry with respect to the scientific, theoretical and practical aspects of equine management and performance. Alongside the academic components of the course students will develop their theoretical knowledge and practical competence of equitation and coaching. The course will make full use of the extensive equine facilities at the College.

Career outcomes

Throughout the first two years of the course students will be able to improve their equitation skills while developing their proficiency in equine management. Extra equitation training is available and students are encouraged to progress through the British Horse Society qualifications. In the third year students will undertake the dissertation which provides the opportunity for individuals to do an in-depth study on a specialised topic within your chosen subject area.
