Master of Arts — Language Revitalisation

Course Description

Indigenous communities are facing a loss of their language and a way of life that has been traditionally a feature of their identity. * The online Master of Arts programme in Language Revitalisation is an attempt to equip community leaders, language activists, researchers, media workers, field workers and educationalists with the skill-set to start and develop effective revitalisation programmes in their local speech community. * The qualification is structured to include both research methodology and coursework papers delivered via online technologies and followed by either a full-year thesis or the option to pursue a site-based research project and dissertation. * It has been designed with a clear focus on creating graduates who have developed advanced knowledge of the theoretical and empirical underpinnings of language revitalisation.
