This qualification aims to equip adult educators with the necessary skills and knowledge to enable them to address the diverse challenges of teaching and/or embedding literacy and/or numeracy across a range of educational contexts in New Zealand.

The masters is an advanced teacher education qualification, for experienced practitioners. Sites of practice are inclusive of: * Vocational education * Modern Apprenticeship Scheme * Bridging education * Workplace literacy/numeracy * Welfare–to-work programmes * Youth Transition programmes * Community-based programmes * Family literacy * Correction-based programmes.
