Course Description

Graduates of the Master of Arts in Human Services possess the theoretical and technical skills to provide services that enhance the capacities of individuals, groups and communities they work with. The term human services refers to the full range of organisations that provide support to individuals, families and communities. Services typically relate to: business, education, health, housing, justice, policing and social welfare. The Human Services specialisation in the Master of Arts provides an advanced-level qualification for human services personnel working in (or seeking work in) managerial or policy analysis positions. It covers theory and research relative to social policies, organisational and management issues and the skills of human services practitioners. The knowledge base ensures graduates can work across different populations and groups with the technical ability to provide developmental, remedial or rehabilitative services.
