The Bachelor of Counselling aims to develop graduates who are able to practise professionally according to the values and ethics of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC). As such graduates will learn the knowledge and skills to enable them to be competent, critical and reflective beginning practitioners with a sound theoretical base; and the skills to practise independently and co-operatively within a culturally diverse and ethically appropriate counselling context. *Practicum courses will need to be budgeted for by the student. Students will be required to engage in: Personal Counselling 5 hours of personal counselling in year 1 at a cost of between $80 - $120 per hour. 10 hours of personal counselling in year 2 at a cost of between $80 - $120 per hour. 10 hours of personal counselling in year 3 at a cost of between $80 - $120 per hour. Professional Supervision 12 hours of professional supervision in year 2 at a cost of between $50 - $120 per hour. 12 hours of professional supervision in year 3 at a cost of between $50 - $120 per hour. These costs are not included in the course fee.
