This programmes incorporates the National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering and National Certificate in Fabrication. At the end of six months successful study you will be ready to begin a career in the engineering and fabrication industries. You will be introduced to all aspects of the engineering and fabrication trades, learning fundamental knowledge and practical skills that are highly valued by potential employers. Students will learn in a brand new, purpose built trades and engineering facility on the Rotokauri Campus. This facility will provide learning opportunities that even better reflects industry standards and uses the latest techniques and technologies. Read more about the new facility here. Engineering and Manufacturing companies within the Waikato region are increasingly requesting the National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering and Fabrication as a pre-requisite to apprenticeship. Students that successfully complete and gain this qualification have an above average chance of gaining an apprenticeship with these companies.
