Course Description

The National Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Level 3) is the next stage to becoming a registered Electrician. It will provide you with a balance of theory and practical education, which will assist in developing both your practical ability and diagnostic skills. It covers a balance of theory and practical skills assessed both on and off the job such as basic electrical theory, concepts, trade practice, New Zealand electricity supply and the practical skills required of a fully qualified electrician. Other components include first aid, cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, safeworking practices and safety testing, codes of practice and standards. As of May 2014 students will learn in a brand new, purpose built trades and engineering facility on the Rotokauri Campus. This facility will provide learning opportunities that even better reflects industry standards and uses the latest techniques and technologies.
