Course Description

Develop entry-level skills for a career in the world of automotive and engineering trades, and get practical work experience during your training. Course Overview Taking vehicles apart, designing electronic equipment, using diagnostics to locate electrical faults, working on heavy equipment, tuning racing cars, repairing damaged vehicles, dismantling engines, diagnosing and repairing machinery, lathe work and tool making – if these things interest you, the Certificate in Engineering and Automotive trades (Level 2) is a great introductory course to prepare you for a career in the world of engineering and automotive trades. This course will give you skills in using hand and power tools and introduce you to two and four stroke engines, braking and cooling systems, fuel systems and vehicle electronics. You’ll also learn to use measuring instruments, you will draw and assemble mechanical components, learn machining, fabrication work, welding, and work with engineering machinery. To be awarded the Certificate in Engineering and Automotive Trades (Level 2), you must successfully complete all 120 credits listed in the course modules list or the flyer downloadable at right.
