The Advanced Diploma in Applied Psychology aims at providing a scientific understanding of mind, brain, and behaviour and the complex interactions between these; with a special focus on the application of psychology in industry and the community. The programme objectives are delivered through lectures, tutorials and laboratory work and a range of assessment methods including project work, presentations, reflective journals, written assignments and examinations. The overall aims of the programme are to: Develop the student’s understanding of the scientific principles and theories of the mind, brain, and behaviour and the complex interactions between these; Develop the student’s knowledge and understanding of psychological approaches and how to select and apply these in different industrial and community settings; Develop the student’s ability to communicate effectively; Develop the ability to manage time effectively and work independently or in a group.
