Advanced Diploma in Interior Design Intakes: January, April, July and October Duration: 2 Years (Full-time) COURSE OVERVIEW The course gives students the creative and technical knowledge and skills they need to become professionals in the interior design industry. It encompasses the study of both Interior Architecture & Design content within the built environment, while focusing on the human interface within given spaces. The emphasis is placed on space planning, creative problem-solving, communication skills and knowledge of building materials, construction, computer aided drafting and the history of design. Students are expected to provide design solutions to a wide variety of complex real-life space problems. ASSESSMENT METHODS All modules will be assessed through a combination of assessments, tests, class participation and written examinations. To be awarded the Advanced Diploma, students will need to achieve a passing mark of 50% for all modules. For Degree and Master programmes, students will need to achieve the passing grade stipulated by the University for all modules. TEACHING AND LEARNING It is essential that a student is subjected to a broad range of views and experiences in order that the learning process may elicit, sometimes over a prolonged period, appropriate routes for a person to take, particularly in the latter stages of the Programme.
