Course Description

This exciting three year degree programme offers training for musicians and DJs wanting to be leaders in the New Zealand music industry. Download the Bachelor of Applied Arts prospectus (1.61MB PDF) It offers three pathways: Music Performance Music Creation and Composition Music Recording/Production In the first year students select an instrument, perform in groups, and study composition and music recording/production. In the second year students start to specialise through a range of electives. Final year students research and create a major body of work. The degree also gives students the opportunities to choose electives from other arts disciplines such as, Visual Arts, Dance and Creative Writing and to engage in collaborative projects across the different disciplines.
