Certificate in Automotive Engineering (Advanced)

Course Description

The course offers a range of unit standards from the Level 3 and 4 National Certificates in Motor Industry (Automotive Electrical and Mechanical Engineering). Successful domestic graduates will need to spend about one year as apprentices in industry following the course to complete the National Certificate. International students can enrol for 2 further semesters (1 year) and complete remaining credits of the National Certificates. Class times are Monday to Wednesday 8 am–2.30 pm and Thursday 8 am–12 noon, and follow the primary school holidays. This time is split between classroom-based theory and practical work. One day per week may be spent working with automotive workshops in the region. This gives time to put the skills and knowledge that you gain into practice. It also helps to develop your customer skills, essential if you plan to earn a living!
