Economics BSc

Course Description

The BSc course is very similar in structure to the BA. The difference is there's more emphasis on advanced technical skills. It's suitable for students with A Level Maths. You get the same solid grounding in theory and techniques as you would on the BA. You'll develop the quantitative and analytical skills economists need to make informed judgements and forecasts. In the first year, you'll take modules in economic analysis, policy and mathematical and statistical methods for economics. Optional modules include Economic History of Britain and the Modern World, Introductory Finance for Economics and Classical and Contemporary Thinkers in Economics. In the second and third years, you build on what you've learned and take optional modules in aspects of economics that interest you. Topics in Advanced Microeconomics and Macroeconomics help prepare you for work as a professional economist.
