Course Description

The University’s accounting programmes are special because we have an excellent record of accounting education. Here at the University of South Wales, we are registered as an ACCA Platinum Tuition Provider, under ACCA’s Approved Learning Partner Scheme, the highest level of recognition granted by ACCA, demonstrating we are one of the few Universities in the UK that can claim such a rich history in terms of training students to become qualified accountants. We were also named ‘Public Sector Accounting college of the year’ in both 2010 and 2012 (by PQ magazine) demonstrating our excellence in the subject area and have been nominated for the same award in 2013. Undergraduate accounting students at the University of South Wales are part of University’s Businses School and are often taught with the professional ACCA students; thus giving undergraduate students the opportunity to network and learn from people who are already working in accounting related jobs. The feedback from our current students about the mixing of professional and undergraduate students is really positive they feel that it is giving them a head start in the job market. What’s more the accounting course offers up to eight exemptions awarded by ACCA as well as attracting exemptions from CIMA and as such provides excellent opportunities to become professionally qualified. You may therefore choose to continue your studies with us by opting for a professional qualification such as ACCA or CIMA.
