International Graduate Studies Preparation Program - ACCESS Track

Course Description

Higher education at the graduate level (Masters and Doctoral Degrees) in a top U.S. university is considered by many international students a necessity for achieving their academic and career goals. Navigating admission to these advanced degree programs, however, may be challenging for those unfamiliar with U.S. academic culture. Despite years of preparation in study and work in their home environments, many promising pre-graduate students are unsure of how and where to apply to U.S. graduate schools. Many have their applications rejected not because they lack the academic qualifications, but because they lack the specific skills needed for being selected. The International Graduate Studies Preparation Program (IGSPP) prepares international students and strengthens their applications to meet admission requirements for high-ranking U.S. graduate programs. This comprehensive program also develops the advanced academic, professional, and communication skills students will need to succeed in their ideal graduate school. Take UCI upper-division undergraduate coursework to fulfill the pre-requisites that may be required and accepted by the future graduate program, and to provide interaction with faculty and students in the major, improving your application. IGSPP Access students can choose from a broad variety of UCI upper-division undergraduate courses. These courses are provided on a space-available basis. Enrollment in some undergraduate courses for credit is not guaranteed, so if the course is at the enrollment limit, or the student cannot gain permission to enroll, the academic advisor will assist the student in choosing an alternate course.
