BA Film and Portuguese

Course Description

About BA Film and Portuguese This course combines Film with the study of Portuguese. You will study histories and theories of film, as well as learning practical skills in filmmaking, and take units in Portuguese. Portuguese is the seventh most widely spoken language in the world, and is an official language in nine countries across four continents. The rise of the Brazilian and Angolan economies, and the forthcoming World Cup and Olympic Games in Brazil, mean that Portuguese speakers are increasingly in demand. Both departments enjoy a strong reputation for teaching and research, and this course combination provides a particularly strong intellectual challenge with a cosmopolitan perspective. You will spend your third year abroad, refining your language skills and cultural knowledge, before returning for your final year when you will have the chance to undertake an independent project or work placement in the creative industries.
