About BA Film and French This course combines Film with the study of French. You will study histories and theories of film, as well as learning practical skills in filmmaking, and take units in French. French is the first language of some 90 million speakers around the world, while Francophone countries offer diverse and stimulating cultures for study. Both departments encourage strong synergy between research and teaching, resulting in a vibrant learning environment as staff respond in their teaching to new research. You will spend your third year abroad, refining your language skills and cultural knowledge, before returning for your final year when you will have the chance to undertake an independent project or work placement in the creative industries.
