The School of Journalism is one of 111 accredited journalism programs in the United States and one of only five in Illinois. SIU has no application deadline for most majors for undergraduate international students however, it is recommended that students submit all materials at least 2 months in advance of the semester start date in order to allow for adequate visa processing time.

Our students learn how to use new technology to communicate news, photos, ads, sports, video and audio on all the new platforms that are constantly changing the face of media.
