Course Description

It may be possible to study this subject on a part-time basis. The course is intended for those who wish to explore FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY. You will study and analyse the work of other fine art photographers and artists and use this to inspire and influence your own work. You will also learn about the theory of photography and will have many opportunities to put it all into practice on location, in the studio, darkroom and digital darkroom. Students will develop their imaginative and creative powers, analytical, documenting, research and writing skills. Photography A Level is NOT an easy option and demands a high level of commitment - you will need to be self-motivated as many assignments are worked on outside of lecture time, including research and written assignments, with 3/4 of the course content assessed by written work. If you want to discover the thrill of expressing yourself through still images then this is the course for you.
