This course is designed for students who may not have any recent qualifications which enable them to gain entry onto a higher diploma or degree level course. The student will gain a sound overview of health covering physical, social and psychological aspects. The course leads to an Access Diploma. In addition to providing an academic qualification the programme will also develop the study skills necessary for a higher course.

Possible progression routes afterwards include Nursing, Midwifery, Occupational Health, Podiatry, Speech Therapy, Sports Science and Complementary Therapy. Please note: Agored Cymru, the awarding body for Access courses, require students to reach a high level of achievement on the diploma course to reflect the increasing standards of universities offering degree programmes.
