When budgets are tight, it often makes sense to have in-house expertise for preventive maintenance and to repair valuable equipment. The Introduction to Fire Extinguisher training is flexible and can be delivered on-site at any location in Saskatchewan. This 4-hour course is designed for administration staff and lay people. The course will focus on the components of the fire tetrahedron, different types of fire, classes of extinguishers and their rating system, and the PASS (pull, aim, squeeze and sweep) method of using portable extinguishers. Extinguish small Class A and Class B fires with a 5lb (2.2 kg) multipurpose extinguisher and learn to recognize the limitations of small portable fire extinguishers.
