Course Description

Balance the study of existing literature with developing your own writing skills across genres such as poetry, the novel, short fiction, drama and film. This course enables you to study English as both a critical and a creative discipline as you explore classic and contemporary works by other writers while finding your own voice as a writer. You’ll study literature from Shakespeare to the present day, with optional modules in subjects such as medieval, postcolonial, American and Canadian literatures, and film. You’ll learn about the creative processes and compile your own portfolios of creative writing.
