BA/BA (Hons) International Business and Law

Course Description

Organisations around the world face increasingly complex and inter-linked challenges, so this course blends essential themes of business, law and internationalisation. This single honours course explores the interconnectedness of these three themes, helping you to achieve a critical understanding of the legal frameworks which shape business at UK, EU and international levels. You’ll learn key business and legal skills, looking at issues such as contracts and company law. You’ll develop a critical awareness of the social, political and comparative contexts in which law operates, while studying business and management in the private and public sectors and learning about core disciplines within business (for example, you might look at marketing and human resource management).

Career outcomes

This highly relevant and contemporary course will prepare you well for opportunities in fields such as management, consultancy, IT and journalism; with further study you could go on to become a solicitor, barrister or educator. This programme does not provide a ‘qualifying law degree’ in itself (enabling you to practise law), but the law modules comply, where appropriate, with the requirements of the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Bar Standards Board.
