Course Description

This programme at Keele offers a superb insight into the multi-faceted relationship between the worker and the organisation. You’ll explore how organisations function as part of their wider context, how they’re managed, and how they plan their future needs. While developing effective skills in listening, negotiating and persuasion, you’ll become adept at problem solving and decision making. You’ll explore and apply theories about the nature, management and experience of employment in its local and global contexts. Every organisation involves people, and success for both the organisation and the individual depends heavily on their relationship – which needs careful and effective management. This means that human resource management skills are always in demand. You might take up a career in training and development, equality and diversity, recruitment, occupational psychology, management consultancy or counselling.
