Course Description

The BA Business Management degree pathways are suitable for those students interested in a future career in many areas of business especially if a student selects a particular pathway. These degrees offer an excellent grounding in the main areas of business but also permit a level of specialism in the students preferred field. The focus of the degree is to supply theoretical substance to core areas and to develop analytical and decision-making skills. The BA International Business Management (UCAS course code N1F0) degree is ideal for students who wish to become knowledgeable, competent and effective international business managers that that wish to embark upon and sustain successful careers in international firms meeting local, national and international employer needs. The pathway aims to develop the learner’s understanding of organisations, the external international environment in which they operate and how they are managed as well as providing an opportunity to gain learning experiences that are relevant to careers in international business management. The degree comprises a comprehensive portfolio of modules that provides flexibility for students to develop their interests specifically in international firms at higher levels of the programme. There is an opportunity for students to understand how the design, operation and strategy of international organisations is developed and implemented, and to appreciate how working in a diverse and multicultural environment is managed. As there is a strong qualitative element to many of the core modules, this pathway will appeal most to students who have displayed an aptitude for business and management related subjects but also requires some interest in international finance too. In your first year, you will have the opportunity to study towards the KPA Level 3 Award in Employability alongside your degree. This Award is designed to build on what you learn in your degree in order to help you develop employability skills that are relevant for the workplace. This degree runs on a 2 day timetable, designed to let you study with more flexibility and make the most out of your time outside the classroom. This course is also available as a 4 year degree including foundation year.
