Course Description

The BA Accounting and Finance (UCAS course code N42K) degree seeks to provide a foundation for lifelong learning with a strong emphasis on the development of appropriate knowledge, skills and professional values essential to the exercise of an accounting and finance specialism, whether in industry or public practice. The course has been designed to provide a thorough grounding in financial reporting, management accounting and corporate finance. It aims to develop technically competent, broad based individuals who think and communicate effectively and who have the basis for conducting inquiry, carrying out problem solving and undertaking critical analysis in a constantly changing business context. In your first year, you will have the opportunity to study towards the KPA Level 3 Award in Employability alongside your degree. This Award is designed to build on what you learn in your degree in order to help you develop employability skills that are relevant for the workplace.
