This course is designed to give learners a wide and intensive experience of different areas of engineering. There is a mixture of core and vocational units. The wider area of working in engineering is explored through research and visits. Learners are coached to use job-seeking and interview skills. All learners are taken through a process of getting a job in engineering. All learners will have an opportunity to develop skills in metal fabrications, electrical installation, welding, motor vehicle and electronics. All learners will study English, maths and ICT. The management of the course involves giving each learner a behaviour and performance grade for each lesson. This contributes to an overall record of achievement and supports progression.
