Course Description

Media Studies looks at how the media have great influence in the ways they entertain, inform and persuade us. Both theoretical and practical aspects are studied. Topics include: the production and manufacture of news and the way media products are distributed and consumed across different media platforms. Students will receive training in desktop publishing, digital photography, how to use a computer graphics package, sound recording, camcorder operation, video editing and printing. To take A2 Media Studies you will need to have achieved a minimum of 5 A*-C GCSEs in one sitting including English Language and a grade D or above in AS Media Studies. There will also be a course based assessment.
