Advanced Diploma of Tourism specialising in Management

Course Description

This course provides students with a theoretical and practical grounding in the tourism industry and will help to develop high level management skills. You will learn how to research, assess and develop tourism products and data as well as source and provide international and Australian destination information. You will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to prepare quotations, book and coordinate supplier services and control reservations using a computerised system. You will develop general workplace skills such as dealing with conflict situations, working in a socially diverse environment and working with colleagues and customers.

What employment opportunities will I have? This course may provide you with employment opportunities as a retail agency manager, an operations manager or a tourism manager (in travel agencies, airlines, wholesale tour companies, regional tourism offices, tourist attractions or hire car companies). Common job titles may include; retail agency manager, operations manager or tourism manager. By completing the Advanced Diploma of Tourism you will expand your employment opportunities to include titles such as Tourism Sales Manager or Travel and Tourism Researcher. What further study options will I have? You may wish to progress into the Bachelor of Hospitality Management and receive 1.5 years credit.
