Course Description

This course will greatly improve your opportunities to enter the workforce as an engineering para professional in production engineering, installation and equipment maintenance or design drafting. This course also overlaps with mechanical engineering associate, drafting and manufacturing technology work. You can specialise in one of two streams (either Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering). Mechanical Engineering specialises in fluid power, machine design, manufacturing (using Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) and Computer Numerical Control (CNC)). Civil Engineering specialises in structural design (design drafting/CAD) or civil engineering (road geometry, drainage, surveying, geology, material behaviour). This stream is aimed at people who would like to work as a draftsperson in a civil engineering drawing office or as a technical officer.
