Psychology is the scientific study of the human mind and its functions, especially those affecting behaviour. Psychology is about understanding who we are and how we think, feel, act and change. This knowledge helps us improve wellbeing and psychological health. Psychologists' clients include children, adults, couples, families and organisations. This degree: The Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) involves compulsory psychology subjects mixed with social science subjects, providing you with comprehensive knowledge and experience in the processes basic to human psychology ' a requirement for qualification as a professional psychologist. Combining Psychology with social science will enrich your understanding of human behaviour. In your third year, there is an option for work placement where you gain vital practical experience. What you will study: The Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) will teach you the processes basic to human psychology. Topics you will study include foundations in psychology, sociology, social determinants of health, human geography, Indigenous Australia, statistics, biological psychology, social justice, cognition and perception, visual perception, intervention, psychophysiology, and forensic psychology. Students with an excellent academic record may apply to transfer to the four-year Bachelor of Psychology.
