Communication and Media Studies will prepare you to succeed in advertising, public relations and corporate branding. You will be able to research, plan, execute and manage marketing campaigns and acquire skills in issue management, product publicity, crisis communications, and media relations. If you are a high-achieving and motivated student, the Dean's Scholar option provides you with an enriched educational experience. Each Dean's Scholar has an academic mentor's member of academic staff who nominates to advise the student on matters concerned with the degree. Students receive an annual book allowance; benefit from their own designated study space in the Faculty; and will produce a major self-directed research project as a capstone to their degree. The Bachelor of Communication and Media Studies (Dean's Scholar) teaches you about how communication practices and the use of different technologies are integrated with our professional, social and political lives. You will also address relevant global, economic and political issues affecting the media and communications industries. The degree has a strong focus on international media, and encourages an understanding of how producers and consumers interact in a media saturated world.
