Engineering is a subject area with great career prospects, and we link our course tightly to the needs of the automotive, aerospace, medical and power generation industries. As a result, 95% of our engineering and technology graduates enter graduate level employment within six months of graduating. This course is essentially the final year of Electronic and Electrical Engineering. It includes a major project related to your selected topic of electrical engineering. The project needs to demonstrate the skills expected of degree-level students, including a clear argument, rigorous data, critical analysis and solid conclusions. Our strong links with industry, including regional giants such as Nissan, mean that teaching is fully up-to-date with the latest tools and techniques and is enriched by Sunderland’s research that has been classed as 'world leading' by the latest (2014) Research Excellent Framework (REF). Teaching is also enriched by our research into areas such as automotive mechatronics, control engineering, materials and structural analysis, manufacturing systems and advanced maintenance.
