This programme is designed for individuals wishing to pursue careers in either a computer security or a forensics department, where knowledge of the Law would be advantageous, or in a Law department where knowledge of computer forensics or internet security would be required. The programme is suitable for both the newcomer to computer security and the law practitioner who wishes to further their skills. Students will develop knowledge of computer crime, criminology, police and forensic methods and the legal requirements for collecting evidence and gain an understanding of the threats to the networks and servers of businesses. They will also learn to administer and configure business critical distributed applications and develop an understanding of current forensic tools, as used by the police. This will enable graduates to contribute quickly to the digital forensics needs of the legal system. Though our short course centre opportunity may also be provided to study for the following professional qualifications: Certified Ethical Hacker (EC-Council); EnCase Computer Forensics, Penetration Testing and Vulnerability Assessment.
