Course Description

This programme has been developed with the active involvement of the computing industry to meet the growing demand for graduates with the knowledge and technical skills to design, create, operate and maintain software systems. Opportunities are provided to develop confidence through practical experience with the latest technologies and programming languages. This will enable you to develop a sound theoretical understanding in working with a wide range of software systems. You will be supported in developing personal and professional skills, enabling you to communicate and work effectively in a variety of roles and a wide range of organisations. Through this programme, you can take industrial examinations such as Cisco, Microsoft, Oracle, Java and Enterprise Architecture certifications. All students are automatically enrolled as student members of the British Computer Society, which is the chartered body responsible for establishing and maintaining technical and ethical standards in the profession. The aims of the programme are: To provide you with practical experience in using current generation tools and techniques To familiarise you with the issues and concerns involved in high-level software management To equip you to deal with the demands of enterprise application development.
