Course Description

Through the integration of theory and practical laboratory experiments, you'll develop critical skills and knowledge across pre-clinical scientific disciplines. You'll also be introduced to key concepts and methods used in clinical epidemiology, research study design and statistical reasoning. In your first year you'll gain an understanding of health, disease and wellbeing in individuals and populations, as well as learn basic physiology, biochemistry, genetics and human heredity. In second year, you'll cover the immune system, infection and treatments, blood and blood pathologies, pharmacological aspects, human embryology and development, and disorders associated with genetic abnormalities including cancer. In your final year, you'll cover clinically relevant bioscience aspects of human body systems.
