Master of Health Science: Neuroscience

Course Description

The Master of Health Science encompasses a range of health disciplines that underpin advances crucial to human health and wellbeing. It provides you with a unique combination of the three key platforms: public health; advanced study in a related science discipline; and an industry internship. It is taught by the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences. It provides a pathway for you to further develop your science knowledge, and integrate this knowledge with a solid grounding in Public Health (theory and skills) as well as providing a work practicum in the health industry (for example health promotion, research, policy and administration). This integration enables you to be ‘job-ready’ at the end of your course. Neuroscience Students explore modern neuroscience including the molecules that make up individual nerve cells, the transfer of information from one nerve cell to another, and the complexities of how behaviour, thought and emotions are produced, through studying neurodevelopment and neuroendocrinology. They understand the tools used to research neuroscience and focus on a particular aspect of current research.
