The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is the most coveted and internationally recognised postgraduate management degree in the world, and there's a good reason why. It is widely recognised as a passport to a successful management career, enabling managers with a functionalist role to take on a more senior, strategic position, and empowering senior managers to gain the in-depth, strategic knowledge they need to climb even higher. Here at Nottingham Business School, we are proud to have developed an innovative and rigorous MBA, rich in real-world experiences, international perspectives and opportunities to personalise your learning around your ambitions. Significantly strengthening your management knowledge, leadership capabilities and understanding of global business. Our innovative, intensive courses prepare you for a wide range of challenges inherent in managing organisations, enabling you to see the interconnectedness of your actions. Whichever you choose, you will acquire the knowledge you need to work effectively at a senior, strategic management level, empowering organisations to achieve their objectives. You can choose to add a year's work placement, making your MBA into a two-year course. It's a great way to put your learning into practice and gain career-enhancing real-world experience. We have extensive links with corporate partners who may be able to offer placements, and we'll work with you to help you find the right opportunity. At the start of the course, our MBA development programme helps to prepare you for the challenges ahead. It includes intensive academic preparation for those who have been away from university for some years, as well as personal and professional development. Semester one forms the core of your studies, and is designed to give you an understanding of the philosophical basis of our MBA. It's made up of a central Responsible and Sustainable Leadership module, plus four modules on fundamental management concepts. The second semester or phase includes three modules, beginning with Strategic Change and Consultancy, which includes a team-based live project. The remaining two modules enable you to either deepen your core knowledge or you take a specialist MBA route such as finance, global supply chain management or digital marketing. In your final phase, you'll have the opportunity to take on a live overseas consultancy project, go on an international study tour, hone your research skills and complete an in-depth research project. **Please note that for the January 2016 start date the MBA has a different structure.
