The New Zealand Diploma in Engineering (Civil) will provide you with a solid grounding in a variety of civil engineering areas. You will learn to apply civil engineering theory to practice and competently perform technical operations in a variety of construction practices. Civil engineering requires analytical, industrial, laboratory and fieldwork skills and you will gain a broad understanding of the engineering fundamentals used to carry out the procedures associated with technical investigations. You will also be able to clearly and concisely process and report on the results of these investigations. The diploma has been developed by a national consortium of tertiary providers, in conjunction with industry, to prepare graduates for a career in the diverse field of civil engineering.
