Course Description

Length 1 year full-time + 1 term Giving you the opportunity to extend your knowledge of the law and develop advanced legal research skills, the taught LL.M will give your future prospects a significant boost by adding an internationally recognised postgraduate legal qualification to your existing skills and experience. Placement options There are opportunities for law students to take part in pro bono (voluntary) work experience in a wide range of legal areas. Manchester Law School currently works with the following partners: Lawworks, Partners of Prisoners (POPs), Amicus, Personal Support Unit and Manchester Mediation Service. We are continually adding to our portfolio of pro bono partners, extending and improving opportunities for law students to experience legal work first hand.

Career outcomes

Students who complete this programme receive an internationally recognised postgraduate interdisciplinary legal qualification and typically go on to establish careers either in or closely related to the legal profession. This qualification is an excellent basis for entering a career in public administration, the civil service, the voluntary and community sectors, teaching or academia as well as the legal profession. Many students go on to complete further postgraduate research.
