Length Full-time: 1 year (3 days a week) plus 1-year internship option. This new course aims to produce cultural arts and festival professionals who can operate globally in the cultural arts and festival industries. This is a diverse industry that covers a wide range of sectors including tourism, theatrical arts, ‘live festivals’ and any event that offers ‘cultural currency’. This is a creative sector, with a shortage of qualified professionals worldwide, the career opportunities available to those qualified at postgraduate level are exciting and wide-ranging. The professional focus of this new course, at operational and strategic level, gives students a range of opportunities to engage with specifically the festival sector. Through taught units, you will gain advanced understanding of how cultural arts and festival management work internationally and develop expertise in planning and managing cultural festivals. Placement options Internships You will be offered the chance to undertake a 36-48 week internship supported by our Placement Office, who have extensive contacts with industry and over 25 years of experience of helping students to find placements. The Placement Office will help with your CV, advise on interview techniques and continue to support you whilst you are away from the University.
