The MSci (Hons) is an integrated four-year undergraduate Masters programme, which consists of a mixture of theoretical and practical based units, using a multi and interdisciplinary approach. The structure of the course enables you to study important sub-elements including sports injury, coaching or motor control. In your third year, you will work more independently in areas of your choice and you will be encouraged to criticise, analyse and interpret information in your research or applied project. In your fourth year, you will have the opportunity to further your understanding and experiences of Sport and Exercise Science at an advanced level of scholarship through learning about Applied Health and Exercise Science, discover how to work with clients, and conduct your own independent project. The UK is in what has been called the decade of sport, with a host of major international events including Olympics, Paralympics and Commonwealth Games as well as many world championship competitions. This will continue to fuel opportunities for employment across the broad spectrum of the sport sector. There has also been a significant shift in the way exercise and sport are seen as vehicles for improving the health and wellbeing of the population of the population. This will generate a range of new graduate employment opportunities for which these courses offer first class preparation.
