This degree course is endorsed by the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences and is highly regarded within the UK. The course consists of a mixture of theoretical and practical based units, using a multi and interdisciplinary approach. You will study biomechanics, physiology and psychology at all levels. You will also consider how to combine your knowledge of sport and exercise populations to enhance performance and well-being. The structure of the course enables students to study important sub-elements including sports injury, coaching or motor control. In your final year, you will work more independently in areas of your choice and you will be encouraged to criticise, analyse and interpret information in your research or an applied project. There are also opportunities for study exchange in Europe. Placement options There are no formal placements within this degree programme, however exercise and sport science opportunities are available through staff research and consultancy networks. Our Sport Development Unit has links with a wide range of schools and sports clubs providing opportunities for paid work experience.
