Global Energy Politics is an innovative, unique course, which looks at a range of issues such as energy security for importing countries, the geopolitics of energy, war for natural resources, the political economy of energy and the politics of climate change. The course aims to bridge the gap between academic theory and the logic of real-world politics through off-campus visits to energy companies and energy analysts and also features a simulation of international climate change negotiation, challenging the students to apply their knowledge to a real-world problem. Most importantly, this course provides a clear conceptual framework, which will make it easier to understand the energy challenges of the future. Course themes include: Energy security Geopolitics of energy War for natural resources Political economy of energy Curse of natural resources in resource rich developing countries Politics of climate change. Studying real world cases and gaining face-to-face insight from leading experts, you will gain a clear conceptual framework to support their understanding of the energy challenges of the future
