This Human Biosciences course runs in 2016/17. Human Biosciences is a rapidly changing, exciting and dynamic area of modern science which has given rise to significant scientific discoveries in the field of human health and disease. This course aims to enhance your understanding of how the human body functions in health and disease at the tissue, cell and molecular level, throughout the lifespan. A wide range of human biosciences knowledge is covered, with a choice of subjects at levels two and three, offering you the opportunity to specialise your degree programme. There is also a focus on laboratory and other scientific skills.

Our Human Bioscience degree is designed to make sure you develop a wide range of skills that will be attractive to many different types of employers. Recent students have gone on to careers in clinical trials for drug companies, trainee biomedical scientists in hospital laboratories, research assistants in university laboratories or for private companies, medical laboratory assistants, marketing assistants and medical and scientific representatives. Graduates have also used their qualifications to progress into teaching in schools, colleges, universities, and we offer opportunities for work experience/project work in schools to help with this career direction.
