Upon graduation, your skills will be in demand by national and international consultants and contractors and engaged in the design, construction and development of modern, energy-efficient and sustainable buildings. Graduates can make a significant difference to the environment by ensuring that modern buildings are designed, constructed and operated in energy-efficient, low-carbon and environmentally friendly ways. There is an ongoing shortage of qualified building services engineering professionals which ensures that there are well-rewarded career opportunities. To enhance your opportunity to graduate into a good career we actively encourage and support you to find and take summer internships and/or full industrial placements as part of a sandwich degree (known as a “year out”). Vacancies are promoted through our “Employability and Professional Training” website with the active support of Faculty Careers Advisors and Department Employability Tutors. The full year placement after year 2 will enable you to qualify for the sandwich degree and can count towards your professional practice qualification.
